Is She Going to Lose Her Tail?? [pics]

I was cleaning the leos cages this morning and when I went to put back one of my leos in her cage something fell off the shelf and spooked her, she flew out of my hands onto the carpet and her tail started wiggling like it was going to detach, but it didn't. The very tip of her tail wiggled for about 10 minutes or so and then stopped and stayed stiff up in the air. When I touch it, it feels a bit hardened at the tip and now it looks kinked up. Is the end of the tail dead and going to fall off within the next few weeks? There's no visable breaks in the skin at all, it's just turned upwards. Here's some pics for a visual. What is up with her tail??

I had the same thing happen to my gecko. In this case a tile slipped out of my hand and hit her tail. It took about 3 weeks, but about an inch of the tail did come off. It healed well but shows no signs of regenerating.

Thats terrible what happened. My gecko, Pimp, has fallen out of my hands but he acted like nothing happen. When I looked over his body I saw nothing wrong, lucky me. But, from the pictures you have, it doesnt seem like the tail will ever return to normal. Have you tried asking your vet or even one of the personel at your local exotic pet store?

Hey thanks for the responses all, I feel really terrible about the whole situation, I care A LOT for my leos and I don't like to see their beautiful tails hurt! Call me a dork, but I'm very passionate for all the animals I own.

Thankfully, in the past couple of days since the accident, her tail looks like it's returning back to normal! I took some pics last night, as you can see it's not as bent up as it was before.

Well, she lost her tail since the incident. Right after shedding last night, I found the tail detached. I'm really upset with myself but there's nothing I can really do.

im srry to hear that, my mack snow had the same situation, with her room mate, a fight. it stifed like that, but if you keep it stiff the blood rushes to fast. im srry, but the best thing you could have done is cut the part that is stife and all that wouldent have fell off. she wouldent have felt it cuz when it is stiff its like a toe nail, and well, to late now sorry.

Ooh- that's too bad. I hope it grows back for you. I had the very tip come off one of my geckos (from trauma, too) and it never grew back. Hopefully with that much falling off, it will.

She is very pretty. I had my two girls for over a year when they got sick and during all this a hide fell on my females tail. She only lost the tip and the tail still isn't the same still moves easily and I am afraid someday it will just fall off, but its been 5 months now, knock on wood. I am so sorry post updates as it grows back!
