Is there such a thing as too much space?

I know that hatchlings tend to like smaller spaces so they don't feel exposed. But is there such a thing as too much space for an adult? And by too much I mean beyond being unnecessary, but actually detrimental to the animal.

I'm just curious since I've heard of people housing individual leos in 50 gallon tanks.

I think to some extent it depends on the gecko. The biggest issue is whether the gecko will feel overwhelmed by the space and/or not be able to find its food. it's certainly worth a try. Initially it may make sense to have a piece of plexiglass cut to be a divider and to make the tank space smaller (using the divider) when you feed the gecko. If it's doing well, gradually increase the area it has to roam to hunt and see how it does. Good luck with it.
