I am not myself sure if it´s a stripe at all, so I need a little help from you nice people :)
The only comparable stripe I can think of is Dorsal...

I would say no, genetically wise... Many leos have a similar pattern from normals to any morph really... I think that dorsal stripe just shows up more in macks and other morphs like hypos because of the color and pattern wash... Awesome Mack by the way...

Hmm Gregg...do you tell me that it´s a Dorsal stripe?
I am sorry that I don´t catch what you are saying :(

a dorsal stripe is a stripe down the back, ex: like a striped AFT, because it runs down the center of its back or "dorsal region" just like the fishes top fins are called the dorsal fin;)

I'm guessing if you had seen that gecko as a baby, it would have been a jungle or abberant. The body looks like it has a broken stripe pattern, but the tail looks like it was banded.

I agree that it appears to be an dorsal stripe, but not a full stripe. In the cases of dorsal stripes, the babies are often born banded and the dorsal stripe develops as it grows. A 'true' stripe is born that way. Lotta, do you have a photo of this gecko as a baby?

I shall ask the owner if he has a baby pic...
It´s not my Leopard, but I got the question about the stripe!
And I wasn´t sure what to answer.
So it´s very nice to have you guys here helping out :)

It's a dorsal stripe very'very common in leo's if you look it cuts through the bands on the back it not following the bands on the back so a normal pattern.

Here a picture it's only a painting but it does show the dosal stripe very well on normal pattern & jungle & also on striped.

By how thick the stripe is on yours it is't a dorsal stripe. It the start of jungleing/stripeing so from what i can see i'd say a abberant snow.
Look on your web site at (male spirit-dorsal stripe) and (female spira-junglely/stripey) you can see the clear differance.
