Is this anything to worry about?

For the last 4 months my gecko has never used the moist hide at all. Now starting about 10 days ago he won't leave the moist hide. He does come out for awhile but now spends most of his time in the moist hide. A complete turnaround from before. Also he hasn't pooped in about a week. I do see the white poop which I assume is urine but no dark poop. He ususally poops about every 2-3 days.

maybe it is just getting comfortable with the hide? as far as your leopard not pooping, what is your substrate? just curious if he may be impacted...i have some that poop more than others, but if it is eating normally, it should poop normally. give him a couple more days, and if he dont poop, maybe a good herp vet is good idea.

I use paper towels.

the only thing i can think is if it may have eaten something else in the enclosure, or it is simply not impacted...maybe he will just drop a monster "duece" soon and everything will be fine. i would just keep an eye on it. good luck, and let us know what you decide or if he drops a good one for ya.

My sub-adult leo uses her moise hide almost exclusively when she sleeps. Whe she comes out she will sometimes chill in her dry hide, but more often is seen just lounging in the "shade" of a small plastic tree. (there is actually no shade b/c there is no sunlight).

My adult uses her moist hide about 50/50 compared to her dry hide...

I wouldn't worry about the hide usage...I hope your leo does its duty soon though..
