Is this normal? Can leopard geckos get scars?

My leopard gecko had accidentally ripped some skin off her tail when shedding back in may. I took her to the vet and the vet said the tail would heal on its own.
However, it's now December and her tail has only slightly improved in condition. Is this some sort of scar? Is this okay? It's still soft, not firm like it would be if it was infected.
Is it safe for me to give her back her heating pad? ( the vet recommended that I switch her to a basking light until her tail healed.)

I did my best to photograph it. It's the pinkish part by the white scales. It looks indented. 20201210_155833.jpg 20201210_155831.jpg

Sometimes if it's a wide, shallow abrasion you can end up with a "scar" like that. Do you have a thermostat for your heat mat? If not, you probably need to get one because it can get quite hot on the floor in the hide. One of my geckos a long time ago liked to hide under this planter I had and ended up getting tail burns.
