I was just wondering if I could get some others opinions on how many clutches your females lay on a single mating? In past years my females have only layed 2-3 cluthes and they were done. Now this year I seem to have numerous females with their 5th clutch showing. So far all 4 clutches have candled good. Was just kind of wondering if this was normal?

I think it varies greatly even with the same female. One of my females in her first season laid 10 clutches (20 eggs) all of which hatched. This season she has so far laid 4 eggs outside the lay box none of which were good.

ok but now the problem i am running into is the females weights, one of my females was at 57g when I first started breeding season, but now she is down in the lower 40's and I can't get her to come back up any because she is laying so much.

Have you tried feeding her wax worms or pinkies between clutches to fatten her more? That is something we had to do with one of our females because she was a nice weight before breeding, and is always a nice weight when carrying; but after she lays, her tail gets much thinner.

I have done pinkies and wax worms but I dont want to do it much. She loves pinkies, she eats the the one then looks at me like have any more.
