Well I'm picking him up tomorrow afternoon. I'll b happy as long as he is healthy, I'll post a good pick when I get him and then I'll let y'all judge.

It looks like a nice mack snow to me! :) If the seller posted photos like yours on craigslist of the gecko I'm sure that leo would have been snatched up really fast.

Wow I'm super excited I got a Mack snow for so cheap, just wish he would stay on the warm side of the tank, he keeps sleeping on the cool side and his body feels pretty cold, warm side is at a steady 89-90

The background yellowish color is more apparent on a hypo snow than a more spotted one. Yours really is a seriously cute one. Maybe he's not warm enough. Let him get settled in, get used to the warm and the cool side, etc. You should see him perk up a bit in a few weeks.

Thankyou, The heat tape is only getting the temp up to about 86, but when I put the red light on it gets up to 91. Is it ok to just leave the red light on at all times?

(any tips for getting the blue off?)

You could always soak the gecko for about 10 minutes in warm (not hot!) water daily to help him pass the calcium sand built up in his GI tract. A drop of mineral oil every now and then would help as well.

For now, it is best to leave him be so he can acclimate to his new enclosure. Sounds like he is settling in nicely, and well done for keeping him on newspaper! He's a cool gecko, and hope he passes all the sand!
