Jake's band; Hardcore "music" LOL

Hey everyone!

These are a couple links to my son, Jake's, band, "Behold, the Harlot."
His band falls into that catagory of "hardcore" genre', which translates to a bunch of annoying noises for us old fogies, but if you like hardcore, you might enjoy them. (Jake is the one with the microphone. I can't, in good conscience, call it "singing.")
And, believe it or not, they've been signed for events every week for the last two months. (I just don't get it...)

And, yes, this is another parental brag.

haha a bunch of pig squeels. I like metal.. like system of a down but this is to HARD for me. If he keeps up with it I bet they could be good.. for those folks that like it. :main_thumbsup:

LOL! Yeah, the drummer is Nick, aka; "Tweek."
Keep telling him to take some prozac and lay off the crack. (He's actually stone sober and a really good kid)

They were having some sound equipment issues during these tapings so that may have contributed to the sound quality... Maybe :main_rolleyes:

Still.... WAY too much for this old lady...

WOW that is AMAZING to watch people of that age play such hardcore music.. I have to say that their music is very impressive, and it's good to see such young artists bringing forth sounds that remind me of such bands like Theater of Tragedy (they just need a female singer), or Cradle of Filth (also missing the female singer, but DAMN). WOW. Big props to them and everything they do, they are so young and will undoubtedly become something far beyond others that have played in the same genre.

I concur. As well, they should lay off the pig squeels, Job For a Cowboy has played that out already.

Tell them keep it up, never give in! ( kids get signed with that sound every day here in Las Vegas)

I'm a big fan of hardcore and whatnot, as stuff like mudvayne puts me to sleep, but eh... This sounds like noise to me. :-/ To much cymbals and not enough of anything else. It's barely synchronized, and sounds like the drummer is just having fun playing around with the drums and cymbals- like a first timer almost.

The second video isn't as bad, but still way too much drum and cymbal noise. Not enough vocals or guitar.

And a tip to your son- face the audience and not the band. lol Maybe it's just those videos, but it seems he faces the band more than he does the audience.

Tell them to keep it up, but he music business is a hard one to get into successfully, but with a lot more practice, you never know.

I really appreciate you all giving your input. I can't hear anything but noise when they start going, so I have been no help with this.
Jake has been following this thread with me and wanted me to extend his thanks for the compliments and the constructive criticisms. He's very passionate about his music and loves sharing it with others, so your opinions and thoughts about them have been very valuable. They can get a better grasp of where they are deficient and work on it. :main_thumbsup:

JFAC is deathcore crap (no offense if you like them). There squeals are higher. The vocalist in this band has a deeper grindcore squeal.

I actually dont like them enough to use an acronym lol, jk. I prefer cattle decapitation, lol, necrophagist and stuff of the sort..
