Kristi,
That is the lens I'm considering getting.
Is yours the AF or AF-S version?
The AF-S version was recommended to me by two different people.

My friend is getting the Sigma 70mm f2.8 macro lens, and she's going to let me borrow it and see if I like it.
I only have old school manual focus lenses.

I'm not sure, so I'm guessing just AF. I got it last year.

Pictures of my light box set up. It's SO simple. I use 2 60 watt daylight bulbs.
Those clip lamps cost me $5.95 each, the bulbs I got 4 for $3.20 or something like that. That sterilite tub was an extra we had laying around, but it probably cost $5.
This was without the lamps turned on:

This was with the lamps turned on. Yes, the bulbs emit a pinkish light due to the temperature of the bulbs, but I turn my white balance to Tungsten which gives me a tad bit of a blue hue, but I remove that in gimp by removing 25% blue on my color balance towards yellow.

And this was a sample shot I took. Sorry, it was the first thing that I grabbed.
I did have to tweak it slightly in gimp, but not a ton.
And geckos won't give you a shine/hot spot (where the lights are shining on the face of this thing) because they are not hard plastic.:D
I think I could probably still remove some blue, but I need to go work out so I'm in a hurry.:main_laugh:

aw!
You don't have to pay me!
Also, these bulbs were suggested to me by my photographer friend (we were learning photography together, but then she went and upgraded to a D700! :p)

Those bulbs can be bought at just about any hardware store or staples, Office Max, etc.
You can use CFL bulbs just make sure they say they are 5500K and are 90 CRI (whatever that crap means!).
