Are leopard geckos popular in Asia? I grew up in Thailand around house geckos and tokays. Tokays are mean so people are generally afraid of them... making them disliking other geckos, too. I live in the US now and my family owns a Thai restaurant so I'm still surrounded by Thai people. When they found out I got leopard geckos as pets, they just asked "why?". LOL
