Just an Enigma?

I have noticed some breeders who sell geckos as just "enigma" but without any other morph attached. I had thought that Enigma was a "add on" type morph, it effected whatever the "original" morph was.. ie a Snow morph with an enimga gene or a RAPTOR with an added enigma gene.

Is there just an "enigma" color? Or is it assumed that a gecko just called an enigma has a specific morph, whatever the first one was (the Wiki says Mark Bell had the first but doesn't say what morph the first was.. a Bell Albino?)

So, would this leo just be an "enigma" or does it refer to a different look? She was sold to me as just an enigma and others have asked "what kind?"

Most of my genetic info is in other animals so I am going there again.. but I know some dominate genes can override (though obviously enigma doesn't completely override or cover) but there is always presence of other color genes. For example, rats. The albino strain will override and is dominate, so they will look white with pink eyes but have genes for something else. If you are lucky and you find the "something else," when breed with another non-albino (two albinos will just make albinos) then you could have mystery babies (I had one of these myself since I had a litter of rats many years ago). However those albinos always carry their "other" color genes. Albino is not a replacement gene it overrides. So, is that how enigma is? if so then a Leo can never be Only a enigma truly there is something else even if you can't see it. Sort of like Het but not really.

Yours looks just like my Tang Enigma. I know there are geckos that are labeled as just Enigma but I am unsure if they contain any other genes. I know they were originally "created" as a color enhancer to other morphs.

the "enigma" gene is a codom-ish gene. its a 50/50 on the first gen on hatchlings from an enigmaXanything. its not so much a color like what the blizz or patty gene does, but just something that goofs with what would have been expressed. indeed a gene enhancer (to some). though it seems to mess more IMO with the spotting than the color, though it can deffinitely pop some BRIGHT orange-red, or even add some weird grey shades.

i dont know if the first enigma was a combo morph, but it is possible to just have an enigma.

its simply a normal gecko that only shows the enigma gene. rather than a nova, BEE, aurora?, dreamcicle etc.

example from babies i hatched:
