I have named him Nubs. Some one who didnt know what they were doing, housed him with another male from what I understand, and he lost all his toes. Healthy fat guy tho! Boy is he happy to be with all those girls now ;-)

That's not his original tail either. I know leopard geckos are said to be easy to keep, but judging by how many rescues we've been seeing, I think they're more sensitive than many people believe.

Are these people putting their tanks right in front of a hot window or air conditioning/heating duct? Are their UTH's getting too hot? Do they give the gecko a moist hide or ever give it a warm water soak? Aside from these examples of poor husbandry, it must just be total neglect that's causing poor geckos to suffer at the hands of inept owners.

Your new gecko is very lucky to have you taking proper care of him now. :main_thumbsup:

Thanks. Yes I knew that wasnt his original tail, doesnt bother me tho. That could have been lost in many ways, its his toes that truely disturbed me.

I agree, leos are easy to care for, once you have the framework right. Without that, they are pretty much left to their own devices in a container. They dont stand a chance. Im glad to see so many people have a heart for these little guys and are willing to step up for them! I always have a spot in my home for another lizard, its just my pocketbook that can no longer take the hit of buying lol. Too many mouths to feed at this point :)

Yeah I've got an enigma with a re grown tail. I don't love her any less for it. She dropped it during shipping when the agriculture department intercepted the box. Had the shipper simply written the species name on the outside of the box that wouldn't have happened.

Oops, I'm getting off topic again. :main_rolleyes:
