Kangaroo Rat?

Hi its crestedgeckos4lyf since I live in North carolina I was wondering if kangaroo rats were legal there i found a post on craigslist and im super interested but i do not know if it is legal or not.
Any comments or answers would be helpful thanks.

No idea...probably legal since they aren't native species. You could contact your local DNR, they would know.

Kangaroo rats are illegal in Utah, but legal in other states. You can run a search of exotic pet laws in your state to find where your local state laws are actually written online and read through that. I have read through mine in depth several times to make sure I don't accidentally purchase anything illegal even though the animals are sometimes illegally sold here (degus come to mind) and to make sure anything I want to buy (Short Tailed Opossums for example) are legal for me to keep. I feel it's a good idea for any keeper of exotic pets to know their laws just to keep out of trouble. I keep my local state exotics laws pinned in my Bookmarks bar so I can reference it when I need to and keep up on any changes.

cool yeah when i went to the reptile expo i saw degus and prairie dogs i didn't buy one although they were very cute.
