Right now I keep all my leos seperate. I was unsure if it was ok to put breeding groups of say 1.3 together for 9 months out of the year? I was always scared to do this, so I decided to ask the experts!:)

If they are all adults and the male doesn't stress the females out it is probably not a big deal. I keep the males separate lately, but I do have one male that I leave with his girlfriend because they seem to do just as well together as they do separate. I have a few females, though, that stress and get dull when a male is left with them for an extended time. It really depends on the individuals. Breeding, in general, is a stress on the females, and when they have to compete for food as well, they could be a bit difficult to keep in optimum shape. If you have space issues, sometimes, I guess you have to do what you have to do.

I would think if you got a large enough tank you could do it no prob if each leo has hides on both sides a few in the middle and 3 or 4 food bowls or just put enough crickets in for them all.

I keep the breeding groups together from Jan. through October or so. So far no one is having any trouble. Last year I kept a male/female pair together because the female spends all her time in the magnet cave. I'll probably keep my "oblivious" female with a male this year to save space.

I don't do it for 1 reason ... I want to know what eggs came from which female. You can't do that when you've got 3 breeding females sharing humid hides. This also means that each female gets her own tub of eggs in the incubator as well. No guessing around here!

I don't usually have a problem telling who the eggs came from when females are sharing a cage. I think it only happened once last year that I wasn't 100% sure, and I turned out to be right. I check them regularly and weigh them if I'm not sure. I don't have room to put each female by herself, but so far it's been working OK.

I have had no problems either with telling who the eggs came from as I never have had more than 2 females with one male at a time. I can see where it could be a problem if one male was with a bunch of females.
