Tip for the day - Using a mini vacuum powered by AA batteries is a great way to keep your terrarium tidy, to clean up bedding particles, minerals, etc. that track up reptile carpet flooring, tile, etc. These tiny vacuums make very little noise and work really well. You can find them easily for a few dollars by searching the web for "mini vacuum AA". As for a great "bathroom" idea, we cut small triangular pieces of paper towel and place them in the strategic corner of our terrariums, and the geckos go on there every time once trained. Then you just toss out the soiled paper towel corner and replace with a new one. Works great and keeps your terrarium super clean.

I use a similar idea for the bathroom except I use a 4.25" sq. bathroom tile so I can just clean it off and replace it.

I just suck up the poop with my shop-vac and then empty it into the trash.
Then I take out the tiles and scrub them down, let them dry and then put them back in.

I just use good ole natural desert sand from WA(western Australia). To clean i simply scoop up the poop and the sand from under it, drop it in a rubbish bag and throw it out.

I replace a fair amount of the sand every couple of months or so. Clean, simple, natural and i personally have never smelt any bad odors in my enclosures.
