Very pretty, Emma! Why aren't these boas more popular? They are beautiful, small, easy to care for... I like them a lot, I may get one in the future.

I guess they are not as impressive as other species.

Thanks Chris and Nigel!

I actually ended up getting him from Mark Westberg (found on fauna). He is a very cool guy! Gave me a good deal, and threw in a little juvie crested for free! I'll have to post more pics once they both get settled in. I think he's got more - email or PM me if you want his contact info.

I love these KSBs! they are soooo cool!

I dont think they get the credit they deserve just because they are more fossorial but thats what makes them so interesting, they are a handful of morphs out there like Anerys,Albinos,Snows,Vanishing Patterns,Giants, etc its just awesome!!!

Well I think they're very impressive!

And yes, they're on the smaller side for being boas and generally very docile. Plus you've got all the different morphs coming along - I don't see why they're NOT more popular! :main_huh:

I'm really happy with the male I just got - I love the 'almost stripe' down his back. and their eyes are wild too!

I think everyone should gives these guys a shot - who doesn't have room for one more 10 gallon? :main_rolleyes:

Brandy - let me know if you have any questions during your research - they really have pretty simple requirements and a basic setup....

thanks all!

Thanks Emma! I found a lot of information about the care of these guys. I have found hardly anything on breeding though. If I do end up getting one and enjoying them as much as I do my geckos I might need to know what to do to get more of them lol. So if you know where I can find any information on that let me know.

I have read conflicting information about substrate. some say aspen is best others say play sand is best, and then I hear that loose substrate is bad for them all together......grrrr I know Nigel uses aspen, what do the rest of you use?

Also remember I`m talking about Aspen-Chips(Also Known as Sani-Chips) not regular Aspen bedding. I think most breeders use Aspen, I dont think many or any breeders use Sand for them.

I started out with playsand, but aspen is much easier to clean and isn't nearly as heavy. I feed them in a separate container.

Nigel - that is on my wishlist! 1 albino het anery and 1 anery het albino. Maybe in Daytona or Anaheim.

You can order them at LLLreptile or Newagereptile I dont think regular aspen would be a good choice.

Actually I use carefresh for my substrate.

Started out with the playsand, but got too nervous about impaction even though I also feed in a separate container....

I would love to find one more albino female to round out my trio, but supposedly albinos are kinda hard to find right now....

I'll let this guy settle in a bit more for now (gotta give my wallet a break for a while) but an albino will definitely be my next purchase....

Hey I think your snakes are related to mine. I bought mine of a guy for $10 each and he sold them to the breeders at San Jose Saturday morning. So who know maybe they are related. Oh by the way I have Three
