Kink?

My female tremper has a very small kink at the end of her tail. It is not genetic, she seems to have formed it recently as she did not have it when I got her(She has been given proper supplements). The only thing I can think of is the fact that she had trouble with her tail on her last shed, I got it off, but it took a lot of effort, which makes me think she had a lot of trouble with it. Could she have caused it trying to get her shed off? Maybe biting it?

Yes, that happens sometimes after shedding, especially in hatchlings. Don't worry. You know it's not genetic, and you can breed her if you ever wish to. It's nothing bad.

Geckos that develop kinked tails can be a temperature (too high) factor, or insufficient calcium metabolism, or as you stated... a problem with as bad shed. Geckos have a parathyroid gland that governs calcium metabolism AND shedding. I'd make sure she has plenty of calcium available.

I have a VERY old banded gecko female... 9+ years old, and they have an average lifespan of 5-6 years. In her old age, she has developed a kinked tail. I know there is not a temperature issue in her habitat, but it's entirely possible that she has developed a thyroid condition and does not absorb calcium like she used to. Like any other living creature, endocrine problems can play a huge roll in situations like this.
