Knob tails are AWESOME looking! I currently breed Leopard Geckos, Bearded Dragons, and starting Crested Geckos, I am looking for information for Knob tails, I know absolutely nothing about them and was hoping someone could point me to some info about them. What kind of racks can they be kept in? If they need UVB or not, things like that. Thanks for all the help

I dont know. What I do know is, there is only one type of rack made for reptiles. I dont know if you mean brand, but any brand I`de think would work for any type of reptile. The only difference should be heat and humidity, no?

I adore my little knobbies!

I house my levis in sweater boxes on the bottom shelf in one of my racks at a warm temperature of around 86 degrees at the back of the tub. I keep them on Repti-Sand or Jurassic Sand, about 1/2" thick of dry sand at the back (warm) and middle of the tub, and about 2-3" of moist (not wet) sand at the front (cool) end. They have a small, low hide in the middle, and no water bowl as they lick the droplets of condensation in the hide.

They are rather shy, and will burrow elaborate tunnels in the deep, moist sand... or completely enclose themselves in their hides by digging the sand so it forms a barrier in the opening. They are nocturnal, so don't require any lighting. They are not climbers, and will not eat or drink out of a bowl.

I feed my adults 2-3 times a week on dusted crickets, and some of them will eat mealworms if fed by hand. A few of mine get very stressed when too many crickets are in their enclosure, so I just give those a few at a time.

They do not tolerate handling like leopard geckos do, but most of them will let you pick them up during enclosure cleaning. Their little claws cannot hang on, so they won't crawl up to your shoulder like leos.

They are quite easy to keep. I think they look like little cartoon characters, and who can resist their darling little faces and the way they walk around like little bulldogs, LOL!

will not eat or drink out of a bowl.

A few of mine actually eat mealworms from a bowl when I (infrequently) give them to them, but I mostly feed crickets as that seems to be what puts on the most weight for them.

Haha yeah I know its crazy. I actually found my male for $450 I thought hey that isnt bad, and they are awesome looking. I come home look online and the only females I see are all $2000! wow! I see people sell unsexed N. Levis Levis alot cheaper than visual sexed ones, do they do the same with the N. Amyae, or does everyone hold onto them until they can sex them because their worth so much more then?

N. amyae unsexables frequently sell for $500-$700...Whether or not people want to raise until sexable, really depends on the mood of the breeder. I didn't pay nearly that much for my male, so I've got a bit of cushioning in justifying the cost for a female...
