I noticed this evening that my geckos foot was very swollen. When I lifted her out to look at it a very large pus ball popped out. I have bathed her and cleaned it with just water. Was could cause this? What else should I do?
No pictures sorry. It was just like if you had a pimple and it popped. It was at least 1/2 the size of its foot. A hard yellowish white ball of pus. Now she has a big open wound on the bottom of her foot
Sounds like an abscess. Reptiles do not have liquid pus, instead it forms into an encapsulated mass. If it's now excised, keep the area clean and put some antibiotic ointment on it. Make sure the gecko stays on a paper towel substrate. BTW, what substrate were you keeping the geck on?
