lateralis egg cases molding

Ok, so I have some lateralis egg cases; they seem to have "long white hair" growing on them, I'm guessing they're molding. Can a perfectly healthy egg case mold and still be able to hatch out fine? What do you think causes the mold? I have them on soaked super hatch medium, perhaps I had it too wet and not enough ventilation?

Lateralis egg cases are pretty tough, so they may still hatch. If you're getting mold, it's too wet, increase ventilation. I don't incubate eggs cases seperately, I just let them hatch in the adult bin and sift nymphs later, and the only source of humidity in there is a dish of water crystals over the heat source.

If the egg cases dent, it means its too dry, right? The weird thing is, I have some dented ones as well as the molding ones in the same container...shall I wipe/rinse the mold off? I'll also cut a few holes in the container to increase ventilation. Thanks.

I too separate lateralis egg cases, and they don't need THAT much moisture. I just throw them all in an open container and the ambient humidity in my hovabator works just fine. I wouldn't place the egg cases on any medium, just make sure the container has higher humidity. A little bit of denting is normal and shouldn't harm the eggs, they are pretty hardy as T-ReXx said.

Ok, think I added too much water to incubate them. I had 1 egg case hatched so far (with 13 babies); fingers crossed that at least a few others can successfully hatch so I can start my own colony.
