lay box location

Ive read plenty of articles on how to make a lay box but everyone forgets to include the simple location of the lay box. Does it go on the warm side of the tank that i run the heat cable under or the cool side?

Not an official answer, but in most pictures, I have usually seen it in the center. Cool on the coolside, warmhide on the warmside, and it just seems to fit well to put the laybox in the middle.

Also, I used an IR temp on the surface of the coco-fiber yesterday, and my surface temp was 83F. My laybox is positioned 30% on-top-of the "warm 1/3rd of the tank."....so it isn't cool (70's) and it isn't full-warm-temp (90F), and I am very happy with a "temporary storage" temp of 83F until they gets moved to the incubator.

Again...not an official answer...just what I have seen, what I am trying, and why it seems to make good sense.
