I find Speckled Kingsnakes here at my house all the time/and at my work. I love these snakes...ive handled over 1000 of them and never been bit or struck at. But i have heard of them doing so. Just not any ive come across.

Sorry if its not the "kind" of snake u were talking about but its the first thing that came to mind...

No Snake can be "Tamed" they are animals. But if what you mean is what snakes have a calm demeanor I think any of the North American Ratsnakes including those of the guttata or cornsnake family. Most Kingsnakes and Milksnakes generally grow out of their spastic nature but there's no guarantee.
Personally I think Ball Pythons are overrated, I mean keep a few Ball Pythons, but honestly I prefer my colubrids over boids.

You must have some relaxed Speckled Kings around there, my two males are pretty nippy. One tried to eat my finger!

If you want a really relaxed and beautiful snake, check out an Andean Milk Snake. I have 2 pairs of them and they're really calm compared to most of my other kings. Other people say the same thing, Andeans are known for being calm.

Well, bps and red tail boas are for the most part, non-aggressive (though there are exceptions to that rule). By far, though, the most laid back, personable snake I've found is a Woma python. They love being handled and are like big wet noodles! :D Unfortunately, they aren't very readily available and when you do find them, they are pretty spendy.

I find from personal experience that rosy boas are the most docile snakes I have handled. My rosy McLovin (yeah thats his name) is by far the friendliest animal that I have ever owned. Tolerates all my handling and has never even shown aggression.

im going to have to agree with nigel as far as bps go. ive owned SOO many species of snakes, all types, and so far my fave have been boa constrictors. ive only come across one nasty one my whole life. people always ask me what is the best kind of snake for their children, or for them that doesnt get big. and i always tell them get a male boa constrictor. when you work with as meny as i have, you realize they do have personaleties. Bps dont! if they are nice they sit there and just look at you, if they arent nice then all they want to do is bite. and colubrids, well imo theyre just kinda boring to me.
