I just skimmed through it.. and saw feeding earthworms and needing a basking spot.. that was enough for me

I have noticed this term used quite frequently and I as I digged I came to the conclusion it's just not properly stated. What they are trying to say is an area with a higher temperature, not a raised platform. As for the earthworms they are low in fat making them a good addition. I would never buy them from a bait store or pull them out of a back yard. They can be quite large and have to be cut in pieces for geckos and wiggled with forceps.

have you ever tried to feed a lizard a earthworm?

I did once for my dragon. The ooze like crazy and my dragon that eats anything took one bite and spit it out never again to touch them.

i dont think if a lizard isnt accustom to eating them the never will.

Metal halide or high pressure sodium spectrum is unsurpassed as far as reptile lighting goes.

Hopefully there will be a reptile enthusiast to agree.

I always thought that to be true of salt water aquariums as well but my led might have coast lots more up front but the money saved in bulbs and electricity have paid it of already and the color just as good in my opinion

Any organism needs light

No matter what, the above is true.

though considering a deep sea angler..the above holds true.

Unless, of course, a giant squid enters.

Please don't feed the troll, Dennis

Something that offensive makes you better than I?

Wow.

I'm not a troll nor do I live under a bridge. I'm sorry that you may not agree with my posts but name-calling only makes you what you claimed I was.

Your example isn't very fair.

Have a good day. I mean that. I'm not sure what else to say other than:

Be well

I wish people would be nicer.

The computer is not the problem, you are doing fine. It is the internet that is the issue. People have trouble discerning tone and context from text because so much of effective communication revolves around body language and variances in voice.

The term "don't feed the troll" can have multiple meanings, but the origin is not based on a troll creature, but on the act of "trolling", as in fishing, where people say something and troll it out there looking for someone to bite on it.

Nowadays, it also applies to where a thread or situation that was a bit intense has calmed down, but then someone says something (inadvertently or intentionally) that flares it back up again. The "troll" can be the person who intentionally fanned the flames, or the thread itself.

In this case, I would interpret the context to be Russ asking Dennis the equivalent of "don't start it up again" because his comment regarding "most" versus "all" was not critical to the argument and had the potential to flare up the thread again.

TLDR; He wasn't calling you a troll, he was asking Dennis to not point the thread down a path that was potentially unattractive.

Leo's are nocturnal so no light source is needed/required. With that being said they do not need UVB lights of any type like other reptiles such as chameleons. Although a LED light would look nice it can hurt their eyes and stress them out. As you said above if it was dimmed and has plenty of hides it should be ok.
The only color that leo's cannot see in is red. So a red "daytime light" would be acceptable.

I just read a previous post and it implies they can see red.
