As some of you may have read, our female Line Bred Snow always likes to lay underneath her paper towels, despite the two moist hides (w/ coco fiber) that she has in the 60 gallon tank she lives in. What's really funny is how the behavior can pass onto offspring..

Here is mom, Nefertari, chillin' under the paper towels:

And here is one of her sons, who we caught exhibitnig the same behavior just recently :main_laugh:

Kenny (Morph) also has one of her daughters who does the very same thing :main_yes:

Just wanted to share :)
And here's some other cute pics that were taken recently. None of these pics are all that great of quality, but we hope you enjoy them

Cute! I think they find it "safe" to have something touching their back, lol. My Hardee also likes going under his cage flooring:

I put the rocks there to stop him from going to the heat mat.

Jess-love the pic of the two of them looking out of the hide

I have many Leos that like to hide under the paper towels despite the fact that they have their hides -lol

I agree-the paper towels on their backs must make them feel secure

Thanks for sharing the pics

cute Jess :) It does turn into a hassle when half of the hatchings do that and turn everything upside down :(To prevent the adults from doing that I sorta use like a plastic carpet that has texture from home depot, but the hatchlings are way messy so they need something absorbent.

Well it's good to know that it's not uncommon for leos to do, but for some reason the only ones that we have that do it are all related to eachother, lol

Edgar, I agree that it is/can be a big hassle :main_yes: I really don't prefer or like them to be under the paper towels all of the time, but since they seem to enjoy it so much, I just let 'em be.. We will eventually just get some tile or something one of these days :main_yes:

Thanks for the comments everyone :)

I love that second pic--so cute! It's like she's going, "Moo-oom, you're not supposed to see me under here!"

That's interesting how the "I like to be under paper towels" behavior has been passed on to her babies. :main_robin:
