I tried, water bottle didn't work with my males. They're very determined to kill my finger.

Depending on the nature of the bite. If its a male picking up the scent of another male, then he will bite down with full force and will not let go.

My thumb is still healing from one of those male scent bites. Of course it had to be a giant male that did it too. I couldn't even pry him off when I stuck a pair of tongs behind my thumb and let them open up inside his mouth. He did the whole alligator/croc death roll on my hand and everything. It bled pretty good, and hurt for about 2 days. It's only the second time anyone has ever broken skin though, so I'm not worried. The first one was a male who freaked out the first time I ever picked him up to clean his tank. Right then I deemed him "Evil Bastard" but he is quite calm now when handled. All other bites have been minor, and more a surprise than anything.

I selected "No my leos would never do that to me!" but I've only had my little guy (I think it actually may be a girl, but too early to tell for sure I think) for a couple months. I can't imagine him biting me because he comes out of hiding when called and calmly walks into my hand looking all happy. But I guess it's always possible! I'm sure leos get grumpy too.

I took my male outside the other day (it was nice and warm) and set him down on the grass. He stood there with a "You must be kidding look". I then reached down and picked him up at which point he proceeded to bite the palm of my hand several times. It didn't hurt, nor did it break the skin. Clearly he doesn't like being outside.

My two females have never bitten me. They are young (about a year old now) but very tame.

I voted No-my leos would never do that to me! but I've only had Rin about a year and a half and she seems to be fine with me picking her up and holding her and stuff. Although, I wouldn't be surprised if she did lol, she's gotten the tongs before and it could just as easily have been my finger....I'd like to think she wouldn't bite me and do the crocodile death roll, as some of you have mentioned, but who knows! There's a first for everything ;)

Not particularly worried though, even if she DID bite and break the skin it can't be worse then a cat scratch/bite and I get THOSE on a regular basis XD

lol if there had been a Not Yet category to vote in I would've voted on that one.

Our male bit my son, more of a nip. He is just kind of jerk. I think he was mishandled before I got him, he came from a home with young boys. Other than tank cleaning we leave him alone, he does try to harrass me though when I take or put stuff in his tank. I do not trust him and do not want to find out just how hard he can bite.

I have a biter, it doesn't hurt AT ALL. It actually feels kinda funny. He's calmed down since I got him, and he doesn't bite at all unless he's really stressed or provoked. This is just my experience, I'm sure others might have different opinions on leo bites.

I only have one biter and it's my male Leo. All my females are pretty chill and dont mind being held. I'm not sure if it's because it's the breeding aggressiveness coming out in him, but he's bitten me before without any skin breaking and the other day he took a good bite and broke skin. I was surprised. It stung, bled, but it's completely healed now and it's only been like two days. Little (big) stinker! lol

Ow. I can't help but laugh when I see pics of leo bites though. They're always almost a perfect shape of their mouths.

I just wanted to say that I have never been bit until I got my little DB the other day. I've also never heard them make a noise until him, lol. Toon used to kind of stand up really tall when I reached for her but she never bit or made a sound.

Hugzor hissed a little at me when I first got him, but I couldn't hear it. He had his mouth open. He does the tail wag sometimes when I pick him up.

But Epic....omg, he screeches at me and lunges at my hand. He sounds like a little squeak toy. Garrick from CrestedGecko.com says any morph with blizz in it tends to be a little high strung. Has anyone else ever experienced that with their blizz morphs?

^ Made me laugh, they're so small yet they think they're these macho tough guys XD. Rin hasn't hissed at me before....but when we first got her the guy who was picking them up to show us had like two of them hiss at him...funny XD And just the other day at Petsmart.....*sigh* I despair at some of these petstore workers, the lady said they hiss all the time and are aggressive.....She also completely messed up which morph each one was so I *technically* could buy an "albino" aka blizzard, for $60 instead of like $100. Anyways,

If a Leo bites you and draws blood, then I feel sorry for you.

Maybe you aren't compatible with reptiles? Heck, I went fishing one time and my mate complained about the bait biting him. lol I blame it on cellphones.

A leopard gecko's bite...lmao!!!

Man, you're the reptile handler for sure!!! Don't by alligator boots, they might kill ya!

Sorry, but anyone to show a picture of a gecko bite should never even have a gecko...obviously it hates you to bite you so!

But, y'all are experts at creatures that have been around millions of years longer than you! Wake up and instantly learn. Right!

I still can't fathom a leo biting...I've owned several, the one before this one I had almost twenty years. Never bit me. The one I have now (Tico) for five years has never bit me.

I think possibly your geckos are rabid.

Also, next time, have the grime cleaned from the fingernails and don't hesitate on the idea of using mouthwash, please?

Haha now you'll probably get bit, and you can blame it all on karma for your post :p

Hopefully Tico will never bite me. However, you're right so far a karma goes.

I'm not sure what gets in me sometimes!....lol

Mean no harm at all and I'll try to be more understandable in the future, PaladinGirl

I've been bit three times, two times during a hand feeding, and another when still taming my gecko. It doesn't really hurt at all, and they let go quickly. Well, with my case.
