hi,
i am im contact with a breeder currently and i asked what the feeding schedule is like. they said once a week (mealworms). im new to leos and just trying to learn before i make any purchases but from my research i learned it should be 2-3 times a week. the leo looks very healthy and its tail looks nice, ill attach a photo. is this normal for mealworm feeding? feeding once a week and letting the leo choose what it wants? please help i dont want this one to get bought because i fell in love with its tail :)

i would feed it 2-3 times a week but there are some people that stock feed leos. like let them eat as much as they want and then let them sit for a week. if you wanna keep the fat tail consistant then i would go 2-3 times a week but thats me. others should have thier own opinion aswell since all animals are diffrent in manner they eat. some dont eat alot and can only be fed a few times a week some like to eat all the time.

if anything try diffrent things in the diet schedule and find what works for you and your gecko. dont over feed him tho than you will have a fatso on your hands even tho a chunky boi is cute :)

I feed my adult geckos twice a week (Monday and Thursday). There are times of the year when they hardly eat anything for months and other times (like now) that they're very hungry.

i know i keep posting lol but i get anxious that everything has to be perfect when i get a new pet
the last updated weight says 48g but that was a month ago so im going to assume its closer to 50 now because they said shes a great eater. she will be 1 in two weeks. i need help with a feeding schedule. so the breeder feeds her once a week but i want to change that to every other day like most do so 3 times a week. would 10-12 mediumish meal worms per feeding work? or more? or should i do small mealworms? she doesn’t seem overweight in the photos and looks like a great size so id like her to keep that weight

The search for perfection usually leads to more anxiety instead of perfection. Consider doing this: Feed your gecko on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Put 10-12 mealworms in the bowl. If the gecko eats them all up right away and seems to be looking for more, put a few more in. If you gecko doesn't finish the mealworms, leave the remaining ones there for a snack. If mealworms are left in the bowl every single time you feed and are not eaten later, start putting fewer mealworms in each time. If the gecko seems to be asking for more every single time, put more in each time.
