This is Leo, we just picked him up at the MARS show in Baltimore today for $30 from JMG reptile. he's a super hypo tangerine (don't know what constitutes a carrot tail) and possibly het for bel albino. we had to pick between him and two little SHT girls, and my fiancee picked him (and named him).
he's still waiting for some cool new furniture for his sweet bachelor pad, but it should be coming soon from black jungle terrariums.

p.s. if anyone has an unwanted thermostat i'm sure he would appreciate it (and i definitely would enjoy not having to plug and unplug his UTH).

You can always make one. I might be able to make one for you and ship it. I could get you one for $16-$20.

your right, my 40 breeder was on one and fluctuated a whole 4 degrees when the sun shined through the window or the AC went on ;) I had mine at 90 and it went between 88 and 92 with a temp spike of 94 once in the 5 months and a drop to 87 once too ;) They have a slider in them usually, but some have dials. I haver never seen one with levels myself.

the ones they had for cheap at the show were the reptitherm 150 watt ones that just had a dial with low and high marks, i would like one that you can set to a specific temp and not have to worry about if you guessed right based on the arbitrary settings, if you guys could PM me instructions on how to make one though i could probably handle it or i could buy one already made from you like you had mentioned.

thanks

Paul, I use all dimmers. I adjust when they need it. They work for me, and there is no probe to slip out and make problems.

i found a alife 1000 thermostat for $16 online (plus shipping) so it should be arriving within the next 7-10 days i hope...

the picture is pretty accurate to his real coloration too, and if you notice he's on tile with some really fine hermit crab calcium sand filling in the cracks... i was worried at first about him ignoring the mealies i put in there for him but i think he ate one last night and another couple this evening, he must just be nervous around us still...
