Leopard Gecko basking........

Figured id share a pic of one of my Leos basking during the day on a surface temp most often associated with Bearded Dragons.

Usually in cases of bullying, it is the bully that gets the most food, the access to the best basking spots, etc. I believe that this is a totally normal behavior.

He was basking do to being fed a very large meal. All my Leos will do this.

Mouse bits? Is there a specific reason why?

It gets very hot in my home during the summer so that if i dont up the calories they(especially my females) will lose more weight then healthy or shut down for a couple months. Chopped mice are convenient for me and it does the job well. Pinkies would do the same job.

I don't know for sure, but William my leo loves basking in the light. He sleeps there all the time!

Yes they can. But I think if the enclosure is big enough where he has an area where he can get away from the lights but still have under tank heating then it should be no problem
