Leopard Gecko Brumation

When do leopard geckos usually start to brumate? Last winter my gecko brumated(I never forced her to but she did it herself, she literally slept out of her warm hide and didn't eat). How long does brumation usually last? I think this varies per gecko but I'm not sure.

My geckos' "eating" switch flipped largely to "off" mid Sept. At this point, a few of my adults are eating every 3rd day, some are eating every week to 10 days and some aren't eating at all. Some have taken themselves off to the cool side and seem to brumate themselves. I re-do my breeding colonies in mid-Jan and the males get interested in the females right away. They seem to wake up around then, but everyone doesn't really start eating consistently till around April.
