Leopard gecko eating paper towel?

My leopard gecko is eating the paper towel covering her cage. She eats crickets and mealworms that are dusted with calcium powder, so I don't know why she would need to eat paper towel. Can anyone explain why she is doing this? Is it bad?

I'm pretty sure no gecko *needs* to eat paper towel.
Is she like, snapping it up in big chunks, or did she just nibble at it?

She is nibbling at it, and it usually is wet paper towel by her water dish.

Oh, alright. Possible she's just licking the water out? My leo doesn't seem to like drinking from the deep water in his dish, he prefers licking up drips on the side.
