Hi All,

I need some help with my leopard gecko.
So my leopard gecko is 7 months old and refuses to eat mealworms. he/she spits them out when i try and rub the side of her face and out them in her mouth. I have already tried feeding waxmoths but still no luck. I have a heatmat underneath the tank so it stays nice and warm as it is winter here.
That is a picture of her/him. I am getting quite worried!

Thanks everyone :)

How warm is the floor on the hot side?

Try crickets or superworms and maybe you'll have more luck. It must be eating something because it looks pretty well-proportioned.

Does it look an OK size for its age? as my friend got one with me from the same batch and his is twice the size as mine. Mine eats mealworms if i put it in its mouth but i would like it to eat them when i chuck them on the ground.
We cant get superworms here in new zealand. Will try crickets. Havent measured the temp but will do tomorrow :D
thanks!

their appetite will reduce during the winter months and entre a brumation state.
as already said he dose look in reasonable condition though, i would keep trying the meal worms as he will eat when he gets hungry enough. wax worms should only be fed once in a while (like treats) as your gecko will want to only eat them and nothing else lol.
would be helpfull to know your floor temp as already asked :)

89.5F or 30.0C. All I wanted to know is why my one is so much smaller the my mates and why his one eats like 8 mealworms a day. Ours are front the same batch

Different geckos grow at different rates. It does look kind of small but it's well proportioned for its size. Some just end up smaller.
