Leopard Gecko Hemipene Issue

My leopard gecko was bred for the first time, its his first pairing. We put him with the female for about 2 or 3 hours than we separated them, after wards my husband noticed his penis was back out and there was a white substance on it. It kinda looks like a human yeast infection or something to that I think it may be a sperm plug but I have never seen one. I have also never removed one. I was just looking for advice, has anyone ever seen it and what would you do. Our vet said they were not equipped to remove something from a gecko so we are looking for another vet, I don't want him to die or lose his hemipene. We have been soaking him in a wet-hide but its still not coming off.

I recently had a prolasped hemipene with one of my males and took him straight to the vet where his hemipene had to be removed because it had been out too long. Mine was an ugly dark purple color and not the healthy red that your gecko's is so you are probably not in the same situation as I was. They have two so I hope he can still breed.

The vet suggested pouring sugar -- normal table sugar -- directly on it to help decrease the swelling and trying to slip it back inside ASAP if it happened to another gecko or the other hemipene in the future. That would work for a normal healthy hemipene but I don't know if there's something else going on with yours with the yellow "stuff" (for lack of a better term..haha) where that might not be the best advice. I think the best thing to do would be to get him into a vet that knows reptiles ASAP.

Best of luck!

Just got back from the vet we finally found one, it was a little over 2 hours away but well worth it. They soaked him in warm water took tweezers and worked it loose (it was a sperm plug that got stuck). After about 35 minutes it finally came out, so they soaked him in a sugar solution and gave him a antibiotic. I'm so happy, I was so worried about him. Now I"m just going to watch his eating habits and make sure he behaves normally. I was glad to take him, they also found out he had one in his other one as well so it was a good idea to have him seen.
Thanks for the advice and support.
