To All May Concern:

I am new breeding Leopard Geckos and I was wondering is there any tips or tricks not to get leopard gecko infertile eggs? I just got my first clutch of eggs today and I think they are infertile eggs. I have a dish of calcium in there enclosure for leopard geckos. I know you have to give them calcium for females to lay fertile eggs and also for female leopard gecko to be healthy as well.

Thank You,

keep your male with your female year round i sounds like you missed her ovulation time but if you keep them together that will ensure that he gets her when she is ready plus is this her frist year ? thx

well infertile eggs can come from many reasons as well. but alot of times the first time a girl lays can be infertile...not always but sometimes they can so that could be the reason as well

Keeping males and females together year round can stress the female(s) & can be the cause of competition for food, hide spots, toilet corners, calcium dishes, etc...

I introduce my desired breeding pair every 3 days, until she stops allowing him to mate. Some breeders keep their males and females together for the duration of the breeding season. But from personal experiance, i've found that when kept together constantly, both sexes tend to show a ton of stress.

You can't always go by that. We have had some perfect little hatchlings come from dented eggs.
