I got my leopard gecko, Bambi, spayed after she was eggbound 8 months ago. I was feeding and cleaning her cage and I turn around to find two eggs that weren't there 2 minutes previous. They are both infertile, but I am concerned. Is this possible? Was I charged for a spay, but the gecko was improperly spayed?

I have never heard of a Leo getting spayed, but in iguanas, I know there is varying degrees of success. Some vets, even those who routinely see reptiles, may not be super experienced or trained in actually spaying or neutering a lizard, especially one so small. I could call the vet and ask what exactly was done.

Sounds like the vet did not get all of the reproductive tissue then. I've heard it's possible for ovaries to grow back if pieces are left, but I'll admit I don't have a lot of experience with spayed lizards. I imagine it is not an easy task to spay a reptile so small. :(

I'd provide a lay box for her and talk to your vet with any questions and concerns.
