Hi everyone.

My little leo Seg broke his arm pretty badly last night- I have already set and placed a splint on him.

That being said he's in quite a bit of pain.

Does anyone know the correct medication and doses for treating these little guys?

Go to the vet dude. That leg is way to small and fragile to set yourself. Hopefully the vet can fix any mistake you made and give the little guy the correct medication to help him along.

how did it just happen to break its leg in the first place?
pain meds are to risky to dose your self as they cause kidney and liver damage.
he needs a vet ASAP

I second going to a vet. Unless you have training how do you know you set it properly?

-nods-
It's not a break that's easy to set. I'm really starting to think that I need to go.. if nothing else for the pain meds for the little guy.

The only thing that could be done differently is surgery... and they don't make rods/pins that tiny.

You'd be surprised how small you can get rods and pins dude seen it done on a mouse so its possible. but bones that small are very fragile. Get him to the vet otherwise he could die from the pain alone if not taken care of properly. In the wild he would of died, at least now he has a fighting chance. Vet time man...Vet time.

Guy hasn't answered back at all yet. I hope he knows a broken bone can get infected. Infection. Hell the shock could kill the little guy. The Leo needs a vet asap. Otherwise we can keep talking and talking to no avail.
