Hello people!

Yes, I have a question. I live in South Louisiana and I'm moving in a few months to another town about 45mins about from New Orleans thats when I'll get myself a gecko or two. I've been on hundreds of sites about reptile care and reading ALL about them for the last few months. My question is this, Since I live in louisiana and I get ALOT of storms ( hurricans etc ) and power goes out when we have these storms. What should I do when power DOES go out? How do I give them heat or take care of them when power goes out?

This is pretty much the only question I have about leopard geckos so far I pretty much know everything else ( well maybe not, I'm sure I have ALOT to learn ).

Keep those hot hands hand warmer pouches available when u need them. Buy a box of them and stick them away, lay a few under one side of the tank when power goes out.

Well when you loose power what to the temps get to?
if its above 60 no worries. they dont happen that often. or last for that long (generally speaking)

hand warmers are a good but sometimes expensive idea.. depending on how many you have.

Your biggest problem will be if you decide to breed and have your incubator power go out. I have mine hooked up to a device which will run it off batteries for a few hours. Otherwise, being in LA, if you can find a place in your house that's the right temp, it will be OK. For the geckos, I agree that in your part of the country it won't be a problem.
