Leos sleeping in water dish

In one of my tanks I have two leos both of which will take turns SLEEPING in their water dish. I find this very weird since they dont really enjoy water (I guess mine do) So after I have seen this for about a week I checked my temps alittle high at 100 Maybe I need a thermo for my UTH. Anyone else seen this or think it could just be my temp. And their tanks stays humid enough

I would say its because of the heat. Whenever I see my geckos sleep in their water dish, the first thing I would check is the temp. You need to turn the heat down to lower than 95F on the "hot spot".

Yep, sounds like your temps are too high!
You do need a thermostat for your UTH :main_yes:

Yeah thanks for the response I have since got the heat down alittle bit but a thermo will be purchased asap. Thanks again!

I have a couple that just like to sleep in their dishes (food or water). My temps are 90-92 on the hot side. But I would still check temps first.

Back when Rainbow was alive she used to lounge in her water dish if it was empty, it was pretty neat. She probably did it because she wanted water in there. That little girl seemed to love water.
