Hello,
My one female leo has a lesion(s) on her head. I noticed a small spot on her head last week, brown in color very small. Yesterday she was shedding and took a closer look and it did not improve. Any feedback would be helpful. Are there any ointments I can use?

Often when there's a wound and it scabbes up shedding peels the scabb off. This will happen every time she sheds till it heals.
Dose she live with a male/ females?

Thanks for the replies.

Will the ointment help heal quicker or just meant to keep wound moist?

She lives with another female. The get along just fine, never have seen them have any issues. the both came from the same breeder at the same time over 1 year ago.

Like sausage said it probably looks worse because the shed pulled the scab off. IMO it looks minor and should heal without any help or ointment. If it does get any bigger or worse I would take her to a vet ASAP!

That looks like a bite wound that's starting to heal. I would think about separating your geckos. They may be most active after you're asleep and dominance and aggression issues can happen anytime - geckos don't care how closely they're related or how long they've known each other.

Lisa,

Thanks for the heads up also. I will keep an eye on them. Hopefully she will heal up soon.

I would avoid the use of ointments.
Its a gecko, not a human. Ointments can make injuries and wounds worse.

agreed it should heal by its self.

I have a colony of girls too and they get along most of the time but there is a clear pecking order. they do fall out some times, normally over silly thing like some one wants what the other is eating or some ones in their hide!

Think about your set up, is there enough + extra space to be housing them together and do you have enough hides ect
having plenty of every thing decreases fighting.
