Something came over me and I decided to make this post... :)

In 2006 I hatched a Jungle that was pretty wild compared to ones I'd hatched and seen before...Sadly I didn't get my camera until Christmas... :( It was cool, but I didn't think much of it until more started to pop out from the same group in 2007... In 2008 a really funky one hatched and I began calling them Funky Jungles as a nickname...

These all were coming from my MS Blizzard project; which I'd made hets for in 2006... The original pair was a MS het Bell from Kelli and a Blizzard of unknown origins... I'm certain the funkiness is coming from the MS blood itself... As most of the Jungles I've hatched were from MS blood and until last month I'd never hatched a Funky Jungle that was not a MS... These genes are comparable to traditional Jungles relation to Stripes... Jungles beget Stripes as MS derived Jungles beget the Super Snow (striped pattern)... This theory may explain why SS hardly ever deviate from their striped pattern...

In 2008 I wanted to make BBB hets that would make no by products (i.e. anything other than BBBs)... So I reacquired a MS Blizz from the FJ lines and bred her with my best Jungle Bell I'd hatched at the time...

X

And here are two of the non by products... :main_laugh:

There's no intentions of making a big stink over these, but I'll definitely appreciate your comments... What I'd like to focus on is the MS derived Jungle trait which I wholeheartedly believe is distinct from other Jungle/Stripe lines...

P.s. I tried to put as much effort into this as I could, but it's no Albey post... :main_laugh:

excellent observation...

This makes me want a "funky jungle". I would love to see how it interacts with other patterns

I love all jungle patterns almost as much as I like stripes. I think the coolest of your "funky jungle" patterns is that second pic.... Reminds me of chocolate pudding swirled with cool whip! Yummmm!

Thanks for the comments!

I haven't bred any of the Funky Jungles other than the MS Blizzard that came from the same line... The second 2008 baby is from them as is the first 2008 sib... The other ones were really nice, but not too funky... The two 2009 babies came from the least cool female BBB het x grandpa a MS Bell thought to be het Blizzard... Grandpa is from the founding MS het Bell... Prior to these two babies no Funky Jungles came from him or his offspring... It may be coming from the founding Blizzard female, but I know the MS gene is doing some of the tweaking... The remaining BBB het females will be bred to a Blizzard Enigma 50% het Bell... These pairings should show some interesting results...

After seeing these guys lined up together I noticed a recurring trait in all of them... The hind leg band on each is extending into the tail... Pretty freakin' sweet if you ask me...

Hi Mike just a couple questions, I have hatched a couple of these funky jungle snows this year aswell. It seems a lot of mine came from when I was crossing the blizzard to a snow.

Do you get any MS funky jungles from anything other then stuff that is involved in your MS Blizzard projects?

Out of curiosity do you have an adult photo's of these guys I would be intrested to see how they turn out as adults. I'll post some pictures of what I *think* is a Funky MS, later today.

I'm not sure if your talking about jungles, or a special kind of "funky jungle", but I did get a nice jungle snow from a pairing this season. The sire is a MS Jungle Het albino. He only produced a jungle pattern with one out of 4 females and she was a tremp albino girl with no jungle pattern at all.

75% of her offspring were jungle.

Thanks for the questions... I have never hatched a "Funky Jungle" from stuff unrelated to the group... I've hatched a lot more geckos from my MS Bell project than my MS Blizzard project... Got lots of Jungles, but nothing out of the ordinary until I crossed the two lines...

Blizzards (and Patternless) throw a lot of different looking stuff especially when crossed with other genes... I strongly believe Enigmas arose from something out of Blizzards... Subtle traits that when line bred or bred to similar geckos could produce something really cool... I will have my sis get new pics of the Funky Jungle Bell... It's unreal... Well at least for coming from such humble genes... :)

I do like the looks of these jungles. I see that all of these hatchlings are from 2006, 2007, and 2008! Wheres the adult pictures of these animals or animals in the "funky Jungle"! Do they look so funky when their adults or do they look like a normal jungle? In order to see if these are actually a variance in the jungle line then we would need to know the adult charactoristics. Lets see what they look like as a adult!:D

Thanks HJ... I just got around to your pm... Follow this link to the bottom to see babies of the first Funky Jungle Mack Snow Bell... Proving to be pretty cool combined with Bells... I have the original pair that first produced my Funky Jungles and I may try to prove them as not het for Bell [both are possible hets]... I think the RW version would be really nice, but you won't see me doing that... Bells only for me thank you very much...
