The female dropped her first pair of eggs for us. Average clutch size is 2 to 3 eggs. They can lay a clutch every 2 weeks or so a few times per season like geckos. The gestation on these was rather short in varanid standards. The female dropped eggs only 12 days after copuation. This is a US first. Very exciting.

Here are the parents.

And the eggs sitting nice in the SIM container.

Just sand. She dug down about 8 inches, made an L shaped burrow, dug out a chamber and dropped her eggs. I was suprized to see how roomy the chamber was. She had a foot of soil to dig into but only went down 8 inches.
