licking butt

Is that normal for a lizard?

our adult male has been occasionally licking his bottom. He has been doing it on and off for a long time but he has been sick for several months and I am wondering if they are connected.

He is losing weight and his eyes are still closed. I took him to the vet and she gave him worm medicine and I am dosing with calcium. He got better for a while even ate..and now he is back to being lethargic and not eating. I am also soaking him daily or every other day.

substrate is carpet.
Temp is 90-95.

I think it is because whenever I see mine done pooping it does that too..

Well at least it isn't just mine..LOL we have 5 and this one is the only one that does it.

Have you check for sperm plug? If he keeps on licking his bottom, maybe there is something there that is irritating him? Some licking is fine though, they're just cleaning themselves.
