So the Animal Science major's big event, the 74th Annual Bay State Livestock Classic was today. I am exhausted from running around fixing things and helping out. But before I go to bed early I wanted to share some pictures from around the farm.
The day before:

Very cool Yvette, I love going to the county fairs. I see you're from the northeast, do you plan on attending the Big E this year? That is like the big time MEGA event of the year to show off your livestock...I never miss it. Years ago I used to show my rabbits (rex breed) at the Bethlehem fair in Connecticut, lots of fun and great memories.

Ooops, nevermind, I just noticed that this is a little bit of a different event than a country fair. Anyways, looks like a good deal of fun!

I try to go to the Big E, we take our belted galloways there for the show and its a school trip for the ansci101 students, and we went to the fairgrounds two weekends ago (?) for the big alpaca show.
We try to make the classic as big a community event as possible, so I guess its like a country fair?
I have some more pictures of the piglets that I can post later tonight. My favorite animal is Trouble, he's the sweetest buck you'll ever meet :D.

More piglets, the barn was so busy that day I was surprised they could sleep through all the noise.

Aww, one woke up.

Even more piglets! These are all the bottle babies, the other are too young to be away from mama. They were 16 days old.

One more picture of Trouble. He's cute but gosh does he stink!

I actually board my horses in Bethlehem.. it's about 20 mins away from me. :)

I used to ride back in middle school & high school, dressage and jumping competitions. I'm going to have to dig out the old photo albums to see if I can find pictures of me competing. Those were the best times of my life. Horses are the most beautiful gifts from the gods with grace, strength and beauty all rolled into one exquisite animal.
Oh yeah, I'm around 20 minutes away from Bethlehem myself, I used to do the majority of my riding in Woodbury though. You're hella lucky to own a horse, that's always been a dream of mine.

Yvette, those 'lil piglets are precious, did you have any horses at this livestock classic?

Yes we did.
Our campus breeds morgans and we have a few warmbloods. My favorite is one of my professor's horses, its a beautiful gray with spots all over. I didn't get any pictures at the classic, although the polo team did a demonstration during lunch break. The school also has dressage, equestrian, and western teams.

Since there's no horses-at-classic pictures enjoy one of last years foals:
