Yes it may take a couple weeks..

7 crickets is fine for 2 days...
especially depending on size

You do NOT need a UV light for them they are nocturnal

you need to provide belly heat..
go buy a under tank heat pad..
and ditch the light UNLESS you cant keep the ambient temps up.. then the light can be used for that

Substrate is bedding..

u can use a heat temp gun or a thermometer with a prob

the calcium sand is the substrate..

1st thing is to through it out..
the if you MUST use sand use play sand..
leos will try to get calcium from the sand causing impaction possibly..

replace it with paper towels..

the light will not hurt.. its just not necessary

well you can think what ever you like.. its your lizard..

but any person on this bored will tell you the same..

also the lizards are active at night so i doubt your watching im 24/7

and for the uvb..

it naturally occurs from the sun..
the lizards live out in the wild with plenty of uvb with no problems..

the purpose of a uvb bulb is not for a sun tan for lizards.. some require it for proper bone growth..
being nocturnal leos do not NEED this.. but it wont hurt them

i am plannin on gettin some more hides bt just got what i needed for now... only had him for a few days.... but surely if u replace the sand with paper towels they can eat that aswell?? n that would be more harmfull then sand that is made for a lizard??
