hey all.. went to the local petstore today to go get some mealies and saw they got in some new leos... asked if i could check em out and was tossed the key to the tank but he said, watch out they have attitude... HOLY CRAP!! he wasnt kidding! lol... i barely stuck my hand in there and 2 out of 3 of em were all hissing and trying to bite me :main_laugh: it was pretty cute, its the kind of behavior i think my tokay is saposed to have lol...

so my question... do lil guys always have attitude? i mean these guys are lil... im not a breeder nor have i ever seen a hatchling... but if i had to guess these guys are maybe a couple weeks old... deffenitly less than a month... bad attitude normal or...? just curious ive never seen such a thing :main_laugh:

What Tyler said is correct but you don't want to agitate them any further because this will cause them to drop their tail. It's definitley cute to watch them act all big and bad towards you though hehe. I've heard one adult scream because it was was in a standoff with my cat. I thought someone was getting killed in my place, it was very very loud. So the gecko won because the cat was so afraid of that scream.

This is my first year of breeding so I dont wanna come off like I know it all. Cause I definetly dont. Out of the 3 I have hatched this year only one of them has ever made any sounds when I have worked with them. For the most part they have been pretty laid back.

Lol, that's funny. I like it when they got a little spunk to 'em.

I got a new baby female raptor who is the devil incarnated. As soon as you open her cage she will instantly come out of her hiding place and try to chase your hand around to get you. She is even more evil when you try to pick up her slightly bigger cage friend.
And if you stick food in her cage. The gloves are off and she goes into a totaly feeding frenzy.
But she is my absolute favorite even if she is evil.

thats funny two of my geckos were screaming at eachother because they are in the smae tank but it is divided my plexi glass and I guess they didnt like being next to eachother. So I moved one of them to another tank.

I have a hatchling right now that screams as soon as you open the tub. It's cute though. My other screamer is starting to settle down. Out of 8 hatchlings, only 2 or 3 have screamed and wagged their tails at me.

She might be 'evil' because she constantly has to stand up for herself with a bigger cage mate. I keep all my babies in individual tubs, and they only get crazy if I invade their space--it's a defense mechanism--so they can survive! Plus, your Raptor baby would grow alot faster in her own personal enclosure. :main_thumbsup: Also, I've noticed alot more responses like this since I began finishing incubation of my female eggs in the 87F incubator...
