So whoever keep posting "incubate until there's no debate" (or something like that ....I thank you from the very bottom of my heart!
Here is our very first hatchling leopard gecko.
Incubated for 45 days at between 82 to 88 degrees (incubator issues). Egg started denting and looking strange two weeks ago. Couldn't candle it because of discoloration of the egg. Almost tossed it last night but just couldn't. Even had the egg in my hand and couldn't do it; kept hearing "incubate til there's no debate" in my head and returned it to the incubator.
It is from a Giant Tremper Albino (sold to us as a giant stripe albino and may be, we still aren't all that clear on morphs) and a Bold Tangerine Tornado (Tangerine Tornado X Bandit) het for Tremper. I have no idea what it will turn out to be but it is the cutest little thing ever! We have crested hatchlings, but never had leos.
I am hoping that this little one does well. Breeding is not for the faint at heart, the female died 10 days after laying her first two eggs from a burst follicle. It was a horrible experience for all involved. One egg was obviously bad from the beginning but this one seemed good until it started denting...
We had a buyer lined up, but since the female is gone we are going to keep this one :main_yes:
Thank you for taking the time to look.
