We've had an egg that was well overdue and it was looking healthy enough so Pete candled it and we were convinced there wasn't a fully formed gecko in there (looked like a blob, but not a mass that usually fills the whole egg)
So we decided to carefully pip the egg, to our shock as soon as we pierced the egg, 3/4's of a little gecko popped out, fully formed and alive!
PANIC STATIONS!!!!
We cleared all the mebranes from around its head, all i could think of is when pups/kittens are born is to rub them to stimulate breathing, so thats what i screamed at Pete to do...
Well we put him back in the incubator in a cricket tub with moist kitchen roll. Dubiously peeked in there yesterday morning and well he's a little fighter, he's still with us, very weak, but getting stronger and hanging in there.
So we have everything crossed that the little fella will make it. :main_thumbsup:
