I just got back from an awesome week in Puerto Rico. I thought I would share some of the lizards I saw while I was there. People can help to identify them because I'm not sure about what some are.

1. I think this is some type of crested anole. I saw it in the El Yunque Rain forest.

2. Another anole I think

3. Maybe some type of Amieva

4. Saw this big guy for across a golf course. He/She was about 4 feet long. It was awesome.

5. After getting some pics of the one above I looked over and saw these other two iguanas.

And I think this one is a Puerto Rican Iguana

I spent 2 months in puerto rico when I was in the Navy. It was awesome seeing all the reptile life their. I would walk out of my hotel and see geckos and lizards all over the place. I believe the one on the ground in a few pics down is a ameiva. I tried to catch a few when I was there. They are super fast and get pretty big..

When I was growing up in VA, there were a lot of blue-tailed skinks and some other arboreal lizards that I don't know the name of. The biggest one I ever saw was almost a foot long with the tail. I wish I knew what they were called.

I can't imagine seeing something as big as an iguana in the wild though! I've only seen them in captivity. My grandma (God rest her soul) was Puerto Rican. She used to tell me about the lizards that would come up from a nearby river and eat the fruit from the trees in her backyard. They'd scare the crap out of her chickens. lol

Very nice photos!
