Alright, hopefully this one works out for you lol. Although I do not have experience with anything other than leos, I have heard Beardies, Blue Tongue Skinks, and Uromastyx do not mind being handled. Keep in mind, this isn't universal. Some beardies may be fine with being handled, and some may not at all. This will be true for any species. As far as I know, the three I mentioned are usually pretty docile. You can ask Derek more about blue tongue skinks. Not sure who can ask about the others, but I am sure you will get more responses.

Just a reminder, when things get out of hand like the previous thread please inform a moderator by either PMing one of us or using the report a post button located at the bottom of each post. There was no reason for your thread to be taken over like that. Thanks!

Yes a blue tongued skink is a good option, they are personable and are similar to bearded dragons in care. Just not as hot and a little more humid, and some different substrate. Diet wise they are nearly identical to beardies.

And while it is true that they are known for tolerating handling, keep in mind they need much more room than the smaller geckos we all commonly keep. They also need a varied diet of different greens and insects, even small rodents are possibilities for adults. On top of that they require often expensive UV lights that need to be replaced annually depending on the type.

I do recommend them if you can accommodate them properly, just know they require a bit more care than say a leo or a crested would.

If you don't mind providing a rather large cage, several species of dwarf monitors might be suitable for occasional handling. I keep Varanus timorensis (which generally [and unilaterally] despise handling) and tristus/orientalis (which are rarely available and terribly expensive). I know many people that keep Varanus acanthuras acanthuras (red ackie) and Varanus acanthuras brochyuras (yellow ackie), which both are known for their 'reasonable' temperments. They stay under 3 feet (at extremes) and are relatively small bodied. Best thing about ackies, is that there are relatively affordable (except perhaps Varanus acanthuras insulanicus, which is rarely available [publicly] in th hobby). If you need more in-depth info concerning the idiosyncracies of their husbandry, I can put you in touch with a few keepers. Best,
Harold
