as many of you read a few weeks ago we lost our male Lugar to gout, and now we've lost our female to egg binding. We found that she was acting strange and hadn't laid her eggs around 34 days after what we believe was conception. It was hard to tell because they were going at it often.
Our Vet shed a few tears with us as we put her to sleep because the eggs had become toxic and nothing could be done.
He said that it was most likely a mixture of depression from the loss of her mate while she was pregnant, possibly his gout causing the eggs to be to acidic, and just a poor egg recipe from two young leos.
We feel like we've not only lost two members of our family but we feel like we've lost a family we were trying to start or at the least hang onto after Lugar past away. My wife is devastated and hopefully within a few months we'll give it another shot.. but right now were both terribly saddened by our loss.
We'll stay on the forums though..
