Look!!! Need advise trade? New geckos? Read!

Ok well I saw a pair of geckos on craigslist and he is a breeder and was ,making a small leopard gecko type instead of making big ones he was making small geckos well I have a problem The female is a malistic and the male is High yellow and I asked him If he would trade those two for My stripe/jungle female ,but he said yes and he wants $30 extra is that a good deal for me? Or bad. Do you think anyone would be interested in dwarf leopard geckos? and i might tell him I will give him the female Plus only $20 cuss I dont want to invest in some geckos I dont really know. well let me know what you think.well heres whats he said

"Thanks for the interest. They are both feeding on dusted kingworms (for about two years now). I had a breeding program that focused on breeding smaller Leo's instead of the giant types. My female is the farthest I got. As a result, she is about 2/3 the size of a normal adult. The male is from a previous generation and he is about 3/4 the size of a large adult male. I intended to breed the two together but my incubator died and I never bought another one. Consequently, I have slowly been selling off my breeding stock.

I think your stripe is pretty. I wouldn't do the trade unless there is a demand for dwarf leopard geckos. From what I have seen, there isn't. Thats just me. I went too try to find that Craigslist posting but could not find it. Was hoping to see a pic of them.

Sorry but neither of them look melanistic too me. That says alot since I own a melanistic. If they looked liked they could be I would have said go for it but they don't.

When you get the female pic, I would love too see it. I uasully look in the SF area and Sac. on craigslist. I still wouldn't part with your stripe. I can't buy any more geckos untill my rack system gets built( ran out of tanks to put leapard geckos in) otherwise I would give you a descent offer for your stripe. I am making plans of buying a male stripe later this year or next year.

Yes, definitely show the picture of the female. Look it over and make sure it is something that you'd really want to trade your stripe for.

you know what? I am having a hard time deciding because I went online and found a post of one of the other forums on the web and I found this and it is making me feel like I shouldnt get them because it seems most people are against dwarf geckos and will give me a bad reputation just like this guy got from good breeders. oh and I hope nobody that is involved in this persons post gets mad at me for showing this if it does delete it. Wow!!!!!!!!! interesting reading. I been to Julie Bergman's place 2 times in the last 6 months( she is only about 35 miles down the road from me). She does not sell any dwarfs. Not saying she doesn't have any but she hasn't sold any.
The decision is your's to make so the only advice I can give you is follow your instincts.

thanks. She was hatched on around 9/10/07 her parents are keith and Thistle. Thitle is a red stripe and keith is a Jungle male with a striped tail.

Is he a well known breeder? Do you know the geckos are healthy? I wouldnt make an offer until I see them.

well I dont know about a well known breeder ? But he keeps them preatty nicely in a 20G long tank each so they each have there big cage with calcium dishes and the male looks fat and healthy but I still havent seen the female! well I am not hoping on spending too much because I already have way too many males and not enough females. I am mostly interested in the female malystic and how big she is.

There is always the possibility that a "dwarf" gecko female will not be big enough to successfully carry and lay her eggs (no guarantee that the eggs will be dwarf size).

well this is I think the third generation with the female so the male came out small if i breed the male and the female its going to be the fourth generation so so far the last ones have been able to breed but i think i wont go farther than the fourth generation because I don't really want defects like no birth happening.
